January 2nd, 2011: It’s the beginning of the beginning for me. What does this mean? It means that this year, this decade, this chapter of my life is beginning now! Well, actually I count it as beginning yesterday, Jan. 1st 2011 but that’s just details… I’ve been way too unhealthy for far too long and I’ve let myself concentrate on too many other things other than my health. I get busy with projects and then let myself fall apart. I eat junk-food (partial addict) as I “don’t have time” to eat healthily. I’m actually celiac, but I wasn’t taking care of my disease and I was often eating gluten. It’s the end of that. It’s the beginning of a new exercise regime (I’m going to exercise almost everyday in 2011) and the beginning of a new diet full of more nutritious foods with NO gluten in them. My thirtieth birthday looms on the horizon, this decade will be a healthy one!
I went for one last unhealthy meal on December 31st, 2011, the last day of the year, the last day of the previous chapter of my life. It was a sendoff to the past.
5:45pm (+/-), a large pain in the gut due to all the nasty food and gluten-filled bun I ate about an hour ago. This will make my New Year’s celebrations very uncomfortable and not very fun but will teach me a lesson.
January 1st, 2011, Christine and I go for a hike up Mount Maxwell on Saltspring Island and I feel much better. Things are starting to be as I want them to be. Less stress and more free time to be active and go climb rocks. Welcome to the beginning!
PS I start my new job in just over a week from now! :)
