I love being tired! If I’m exhausted and dirty it can only mean one thing; I’ve just finished having a great time in the great outdoors. I love feeling like my body has done real work, not boring mental work but hard physical work. Climbing mountains, running trails, or hiking ridgelines – that’s what I’m talking about.
When I’m tired, I sleep better and my mind is clear. After a big trip (like more than a couple of days long) I’ll be tired for 2-3 days. I feel a deep tiredness at these times. I even like this feeling (although, I’ll move slower during these recovery periods). It makes me think about the adventure from past couple of days and how hard I worked, and where I went and what I saw. It’s at these times that I realise how much effort it all was and how it was all worth it. Goodnight!
